History

The Texas Bid Whist Alliance (TBWA) evolved from a conversation held by card players from Houston, Austin and San Antonio during a tournament held in San Antonio, March 2007. The true card enthusiasts of the state continued to meet in Houston and Austin to formulate a concrete plan of action. In November 2007, the hard work paid off as TBWA elected its first set of officers in Dallas Nov 2007.

The mission of the Texas Bid Whist Alliance is to engage in friendly competition within the state of Texas and develop a consistent style of playing tournament bid throughout the state. The Alliance would also like to use this setting as an avenue for networking and establishing long-term relationships. We would like the environment to be one where the young and old, novice and veteran learn from each other in fun and competition with a lot of room for boasting.
